Q And from there how did you get over to the section that you were exploring or desired to explore further? A We had a party to come in there to meet us; about an hour after we got in,-- next morning the party came in. Q What kind of party was it to meet your? A Man with pack outfit, with four or five horses, one man, Tom Baker. Q How far was the place you desired to reach from the mouth of Miller's canyon? A About eighteen or twenty miles. BY THE SPECIAL MASTER: Q Where did this party that met you come from? A He came from Torrey. Q Was there a road through, regular road, or trail? A A trail came in. Q Just a trail? A Yes. BY MR. FARNSWORTH: Q Then I assume you left your boat there at the river and took the pack outfit that had met you, and the saddle horses, and rode to your point of destination? |
