A The largest one was in the neighborhood of thirty feet long, twelve foot beam; the smaller one about twenty feet long with an eight- foot beam. Q When you had those scows built for the purpose of being used, did you put in any still larger engine in the Wilmont? A Yes, we put in a fourteen- horsepower two- cylinder engine in the Wilmont. Q Did you haul any copper are to Greenriver in those scows or in the boat? A We did in the Wilmont. Q You did what? A We hauled some copper are in the Wilmont; I am not sure that we took any of the scow- loads up to the town. Q How many tons of copper are did you take up in the Wilmont, if you recall, approximately? A Oh, several tons; I can't remember the exact amount. Q Did you at that time become manager of the Copper Company? A I did. Q And did it acquire an interest in the Wilmont? A Yes. |
