A We went down as far as what is called Sheep Trail; that was to meet a party coming down the river; we were supposed to meet them at the junction. We bad a little trouble about the engine, and we met them about ten miles above Sheep Trail; they rowed down the Grand -- the Colorado now -- and they was coming up, and we met them at what is called Sheep trail. Q What party was that you met, if you know? A That was Major Leeds and Mr. Easton, Ross Wheeler. Q Do you know what kind of boat they were riding in when you met them? A They was in a row boat. Q Did you return from that point back up to Greenriver? A Yes sir. Q How long did it take you, if you remember, to make that trip from Sheep Trail up to Greenriver? A I think that was about three days. Q You spoke of some engine trouble that Mr. Oppenheimer had. What kind of engine trouble was it? A Something about his valves; kind of a long story around.
