Had you ever previously to that lived in Moab or operated in Moab? A I had operated south of Moab, mining and went through Moab time and again, dozens and dozens of trips. Q You built a boat at Moab in 1907? A I beg your pardon; 1927. BY MR. BLACKMAR: Q What was the cost of the building of that boat? A Oh, that boat cost me between three and four hundred dollars. Q What section of the river did you find the most difficulty in operating your boats? A Between Greenriver bridge, Utah, and the Wimmer ranch, that is, the boats I operated on the river. Q What particular riffle or ledge in there gave you the most trouble? A I don't recall any particular one; I always considered the riffle just below the Greenrier bridge as the most dangerous to navigation in real low water.
