A We encountered to objection whatever. We encountered in high water -- Q Well, let's take this first trip. A We got through as far as the river was concerned with practically no delay. Q When you arrived at the junction of the two rivers, did you go right up to Moab, or did you go down to the head of the cataracts? A We went three miles down the Colorado to where in high water the current struck a huge boulder, and three a wave dike across the river, and we didn't run below that wave, not being familiar with it, and walked the balance of the way, down to a point that comes out just north of Powell canyon, and from that point observed the cataracts below. Q You had never before been to the cataracts? A No sir. Q When you got three miles down, you got out and walked and looked things over? A Yes sir. Q Did you then come back to your boat? A We did.
