Show Hagenbarth of Idaho (served for 21 years); F. A. Ellenwood of California; R. C. Rich of Idaho; and C. E. Wardlaw of Texas.1 9 John K personally knew the last six of these listed 20 men, each especially well qualified for his own time of service. The only secretaries of the association who served during the years of John K's membership and that he knew well as loyal men dedicated to their jobs were S. W. McClure of Gooding, Idaho and Salt Lake City, Utah, and F. R. Marshall of Salt Lake City- Both men were of strong character and personality, and members came to regard them as friends, and 21 affectionately called them "Doc" and "Frank". Practically every phase of the Association activities and business involved those two men and they never hesitated to stretch beyond their reach to benefit the woolgrowers of this country. John K was only one among the hundreds, and perhaps thousands of sheepmen who knew and appreciated their great value to all sheepmen and the organization. 135 |
