Show CHAPTER ONE: CARRYING ON Plans had previously been made and rams consigned to the California Ram Sale at Sacramento, scheduled a few days after John K's funeral. Since Bill was unable to attend, he asked his friend and competitor, Wynn S..Hansen of Collinston, Utah, to oversee Madsen rams along with his own enroute to the sale via freight train. H. John's plans had been to leave the business and go to California to enlist in the Air Corps. He waited until the day of John K's funeral, then left immediately after the services. He attended the Sacramento sale on his way to San Fransisco, and relieved Bill of the necessity for making the trip. After nearly fifteen years of being with, and working close to John K, Bill felt as though a heavy weight had fallen on him as he proceeded to carry on without his renowned predecessor.
