Show IN THEIR STRIDE The Madsens adjusted easily to the stepped-up tempo of their lives, with Virginia's participation in all plans and procedures. It required a lot of time to draft and outline current advertising, and she proved to be John K's right arm in that as well as in the paper work of all records he kept of his growing business. When the income tax program was begun in 1913, even more scrupulous care was demanded in financial records and Virginia assumed that task in her stride. She was always proud of her record work, as was John K proud of his sheep breeding program. They both felt that they had been greatly blessed, for they knew that they could not have made such achievements by their power alone. It wduld have been hard to find a couple who had risen through insight and hard work to their level of prominence in the sheep breeding world. They were sometimes overwhelmed when they considered what they had undertaken at a time when they had only been able to feel their way along, step by step, breaking the ice of new ventures and- methods to establish their own pace. It was during such considerations that they realized there had been a guiding power in their lives. They were humble people, God loving and prayerful people as they sought direction in their daily decisions, Coupled with the. setting of goals toward which to work their degree of success was attained.
