Show e In March of 1922, his oldest daughter was called to fill a mission in California, and he was happy to have her go the following June and supported her while she was ther Later, when his youngest daughter received a call to the Eastern States Mission, he was happy to send and support her. When the nephew of Virginia's whom they had reared decided to change his name in court from Hilton Jay Morley, to H. John Madsen, he felt it would be easier to identify with his foster family. He used the name henceforth. John K willingly and gladly supported him also when he was called to the Danish Mission. Readiness to contribute where his church, was concerned was John K's way of rendering service. A NEW CHAPEL When the old South Ward Chapel was gutted by fire in 1936, John K was chosen as one of three members of a finance committee in his ward to plan for and supervise raising of funds and the construction of a new chapel. Most members of the ward worked very hard for the next few years to bring the project to completion, but few people planned and worked harder to meet the cash amount needed to pay for the erection of the new chapel than did John K T- unless it was Virginia, The chapel was dedicated in September 1941.
