Show their childhood when they worked together in the performance of their farm chores-as their mother's two oldest living sons upon whom the burden of responsibility rested, and upon whom she fully depended. When they later herded sheep together as young men and as partners in a share herd venture they became still more closely attached to each other. Frank's appearance, in sudden need of a job, touched a responsive chord in John K in 1922 and he wanted Frank to remain with him. He and Virginia took Frank into their home where he lived as a member of the family for the next four and a half years. The fitting of show sheep and Ram Sale animals had become a very technical job, a vital part of the purebred business. John K trained Frank in all he knew himself about fitting procedures, and the best methods to date. Then he turned the fitting job over to Frank, paying him a good salary. Frank acquitted himself well and enjoyed the work. On the fourth day of January, 1927, Frank married Caroline Rasmussen, an unmarried school teacher of wide experience in the Jordan School district south of Salt Lake City. Frank and Carol moved into the ranch house after their marriage and lived there for about two years.
