Show and Ed-also John K-so they were all involved in that period with their shifts at camp. The album that Ed gave to John K was treasured by him, and is still kept in his family today. The later successes of his brothers were a source of great pride to John K, and when Frank prospered as a sheepman in Idaho no one was happier for him than was his older brother. As in any family there were occasional differences, but they had not proved to be serious obstacles to their friendships and associations in life. Will turned to a wheelwright and blacksmithing business and was considered the very best in his trade, and John K was happy for him. Will modernized the old style sheep wagon, producing what he called a Home On The Range. Eph developed a top grain producing dry farm at Hilltop in the north end of Sanpete County. He called his farm "Grandview" for its location. Through the years he garnered high awards on his quality grains, and John K rejoiced with him. Will and Eph later ran a herd of sheep together in addition to their individual interests, and they remained in partnership for several years. Edgar became an outstanding automobile dealer in Rexburg and Blackfoot, Idaho, and earned the name of "Studebaker John" in the Snake River Valley. That pleased John K. Interested in silver mining for a few years, Edgar later became a prominent mink rancher in South Jordan. 89 |
