Show the mountains had been responsible for the flood of 1918, for in centuries past: the grazing had not been a factor in determining floods. He felt that whenever a cloudburst of great proportions and force hit the ridge or near ridge of the mountain at the head of the canyon, a flood was inevitable - grazing or no grazing. He said one only needed to look at the old rock-beds surrounding the town to realize that centuries-old floods had deposited them there. MOVING IN The new house was ready for occupancy in August, 1918. Furnishings had been previously chosen by John K and Virginia while they were in Salt Lake. The new Wilton rugs were very beautiful on the hardwood maple floors, and the furniture seemed made for the house. A good portion of the basement had been finished into one large room. It was called the Play Room and with hardwood floors, also, it became just that. There was a fireplace in the north end and it was a popular room for parties and fun. Virginia often entertained at a Halloween party in observance of her birthday on the 30th of October. Sometimes it was a dance party with music made by Mozart Larsen and Sharp Draper and Company of Moroni.
