Show 4983 Dugan- D 2996 A Yes. Q Then that was after these times you have been describing? A Yes. BY MR. FARNSWORTH: Q You spoke of frequently taking a boat during the month of January, I believe you fixed it, maybe the winter and spring of 1926, and riding in a boat from Shafer No. 1 well up to some point and then getting out and walking the balance of the way to Moab? A Yes. Q Where was that place you got out? A Approximately between a mile and a half and two miles above the Frank Shafer Camp, on the opposite side of the river, or the east side of the river. Q How far away from Moab was the Frank Shafer camp by the river? A Approximately twenty- two miles, I believe we called it. Q How much of a cut- off would this trail you took when you walked up amount to? A You mean how much shorter than by river? Q Yes. A We called it between eight and nine miles from where this landing was where we would get off the boat into Moab. However, that is merely an approximated distance. |
