Show 4951 Edwards- D 2964 A The first trip out we had some trouble at the mouth of Bull canyon, where it was necessary to cross from one side of the river to the other, on account of a cross channel there. We had a little trouble at that point. Q Who was operating the boat? A Mr. Baldwin, Virgil Baldwin, either he or a man named Walker operated the boat all the time I was there. Q Do you think Virgil Baldwin was in charge on the day you went out? A I think so, yes. Q When next did you return to this Shafer No. 1? A I think it was the 25 th of March, or about that. Q Was Mr. Cleary with you at that time? A Mr. Cleary was on the Elk Ridge work at that time, I believe. I don't believe he made the trip with me at that time down the river. Q What do you recall about your trip down stream on the 25th of March? A I don't recall any trouble that we had. Q Do you recall which boat you went down in? A We went down on the barge. Q Do you recall the stage of the water as compared with the first time you went down? A It was some higher; the water was extremely low during January. |
