Q So that by getting out and walking at the point you did get out to walk, you had to walk about five miles further than you otherwise would have had to walk, and avoided all of the river trip beyond that point? A No, if I had stayed on the boat I wouldn't have had to walk at all. Q Would you have stayed at the dock? A There was always cars there to take us to town. Q Did you keep a car there for that purpose? A As a rule my car was left at the dock when I went down the river.
