A Eight or ten are in the southeastern part of the state; we drilled at Elk ridge, and three wells on the river, and completed the fourth; we drilled at Cedar Mesa, one at Elk ridge, and one the Arizona line, Gypsum creek. Q Were these wells drilled on surface examination that were made, or on the reports of engineers? A They were drilled from geological examination, and on true structures in all cases. BY MR. BLACKMAR: Q What did you do with this oil that was produced? A used it for fuel oil in the drilling of another well. BY THE SPECIAL MASTER: Q Was any of it taken up the river? A I don't think so. Q So far as you know. A No, I am positive it was not; if it was, it was for test purposes. MR. FARNSWORTH: I want this witness back. THE SPECIAL MASTER: I understood from witnesses who testified at Denver, Mr. BLackmar, that there was some oil brought up the river. Was it from some other wells than these? MR.
