Show 4904 Cleary- D 2917 every few days, but I didn't travel clear back to Moab until I came out on the 17th. Q Did you use a boat for that purpose? A Only part of the way. Q What boat did you use? A From Shafer No. 1 -- or No. 2, which is approximately mile post 37, we used the boat that I think has been termed the black boat, the passenger boat for the Moab Garage Company, up to No. 1. A day or two later I came from No. 1 to a point about Island Mesa, a mile and a half above No. 1 well, and walked from there to Moab. Q Was that when you were coming out? A Yes sir. Q Why did you stop at Island Mesa? A On account of the slowness of our motor transportation, and on account of the trail ending at Island Mesa, we were in such a state of wind when we got there, we walked from there on in to Moab. Q What boat were you on? A We had our own boat at that time. Q What was the name of that boat? A That was a Grey Motor Company, the Riff Climber, their trade name. Q What size boat was the Riff Climber? A Possibly seventeen feet in length and four feet in width, -- four and a half, maybe. |
