Then in the Lasal mountains there has been prospecting and mining operations under way there for forty or fifty years. Q How recently has there been gold prospecting along the Colorado river in that neighborhood? A Within the last few years, two or three years. Q That is along the river bottoms or the river banks? A The gravel bars along the banks. BY MR. FARNSWORTH: Q Do you have a personal knowledge of the properties known as the Big Indian copper properties? A Yes sir. Q Where are they located? A About twenty- five miles southeast of Moab. Q Is the copper occurring in sandstone? A Yes sir. Q There are a great many showings of mineral wealth, are there, not, that as yet have not been developed? A Mining men tell me there are, prospectors. Q Have you any familiarity with the coal fields of Kane county? |
