Show 4982 Dugan- D 2995 we had gone through before. Q Just answer the question. You became familiar with that characteristic that you speak of? A Yes. Q And notwithstanding that, you would get out and walk clear across to try to find a place when you got stuck? A Yes. Q And in each instance your former experience would be confirmed, namely, that there was no other place where it was very much deeper? A We practically always found a place where we could get a boat through, but it was very limited, and very shallow water all the way across. Q Now you say you recall having ridden across that down to one of the wells, I think you said the Frank Shafer well. Is that correct? A Yes. Q How many times did you ride horseback down to the Frank shafer well? A Only twice that I remember that I made the trip. Q Over what stretch of time did your experience on the river continue? A From 1924, and the last time I was on the river was in November, 1928. BY THE SPECIAL MASTER: Q November, 1928? |
