Show 4974 Dugan- D 2987 BY MR. BLACKMAR: Q The point you went was at Shafer No. 1? A Yes, what was later Shafer No. 1. Q Do you recall whether or not you encountered any difficulty on the sandbars on the down or the up trip? MR. FARNSWORTH: We object to that as loading. The witness was asked the question what difficulties he encountered. He answered, slush ice. I admit, after a witness has made such an answer, if counsel has reason to believe he may have forgotten something, he might ask him what if any other difficulties, but I am objecting to this question because I object to the line of questions. I think counsel ought not go do that with these witnesses. THE SPECIAL MASTER: Ask him if he had any other difficulties. BY MR. BLACKMAR: Q Did you have any other difficulties? A As I remember, we had no serious difficulties with sandbars on this particular trip. MR. BLACKMAR: There you are. BY MR. BLACKMAR: Q Did you afterwards make other trips on the Colorado river between those points? A Yes sir. |
