Show 4883 Cleary- D 2896 wells down there? A No, they are not. Q When did you first go on the Colorado river? A On December 31, 1925. Q And for what purpose, Mr. Cleary? A It has been my duties with the Midwest over the past eight or nine years to visit any well that gave promise of being a producer or bringing in a producing field, and from that visit to make a report of transportation facilities, water supplies, construction of camps and appurtenant structures necessary in a producing field. I went to what we termed at that time No. 1, the Shafer well, with that in mind, as well as to check the location of the well and the staking of the permits on which the well was located. Q What permits do you mean? A The John Shafer property and the Frank Shafer property. Q Those were United States Government permits? A United State permits, oil and gas permits. Q Prior to the time you went down there had your company received information that this well was an oil well? MR. FARSWORTH: We object to this as hearsay, as irrelevant and immaterial. MR. BLACKMAR: He is an officer of the company. |
