A The hull of the boat was up- side- down on a rock in the middle of the stream, that is, some kind of obstruction was holding it there; they said it was a rock; there were two men on it when I saw it. Q How did the character of water in which you saw the hull compare with other water between, say, Castle creek and Moab? A I think the river is rather narrower there; it is a rather swift rapid. Q As a matter of fact, the place where the Undine met with disaster was the swiftest portion of the stream between Moab and Castle creek, was it not? A I don't know whether it is or not. Q Was it headed up stream at the time you saw the wreck? A I don't know; I just saw the bottom of the hull up-side- down in the middle of the river with two men on it.
