Show 4851 Taylor- D 2864 BY THE SPECIAL MASTER: Q Wasn't there any oil brought up the river? A Yes, but he said for the merchants. Q There was oil brought up, wasn't there? A Oh, yes. He said merchandise for the merchants. I know of lumber being rafted down the river. THE SPECIAL MASTER: Won't you make the question a little broader, Mr. Blackmar, and let's get this straight. BY MR. BLACKMAR: Q What about this oil you say was brought up the river? Do you know how much of it? A No sir, I don't. Q Do you know when it was done? A I know of some oil being brought up soon after the well came in; it was taken to Lasal to dip some cattle in. Q Do you know how many barrels? A Several barrels; I don't know how many. Q This lumber you speak of that was rafted, do you know where that went to or where it came from? A The lumber came from Castle Valley, twenty miles above Moab, and rafted to Moab. Q Do you recall when that was? A It was when I was a small boy; I can't give you the year. Q Do you recall how much of it there was? |
