Show KUED, KUER produce grant shows; cover Mock Conventions Celebrating its tenth anniversary in January, KUED won two grants to do special programs, the first of which was a half-hour musical drama called "The Ballad of Smedley the Smoker." The second grant awarded them enabled them to film "Doodling on the Rocks," an exploration of Indian Hieroglyphics and their meaning. While KUED affiliated with National Educational Television in providing educational shows for school children and the general community, KUER, managed by Gene Pack, covered Mock Conventions, Challenge, Great Issues Forum, and the model U.N. KUER also broadcasted all music class listening requirements, a ten p.m. jazz program, and included some pop selections interspersed with three of UPl's newscasts.
