Show ASUU BOARDS pilot student kayak through '68 rapids The third of the ASUU boards, the Finance Board, controlled the $400,000 ASUU budget. During 1968 this group did a major job in codifying financial procedures, which standardized ways and means of apportioning ASUU funds. With the new financial procedures carefully noted, future boards will find it easier to keep track of expenditures. An added service this board performed took the form of new procedures for investment of ASUU monies. Since all of the funds aren't used at once, the latent money can be invested so that the ASUU makes money as well as spending it. Organizations Board whirled through a busy '68, reorganizing Freshman Cabinet and lighting a match under the formerly hibernating Advisory Cabinet thus revitalizing this group. The three-member board also worked to establish new procedures to facilitate the operations and effectiveness of the Student Affairs Committee, a committee of vital importance to every U student. The last of the five boards, Public Affairs Board had the responsibility for all intercollegiate relations and the PR image of the U of U. This board dealt with Freshman Orientation, high school relations, and all public relations for the Executive Council. Their innovations included the Dine-Out program and the Involvement Committee, a channel for the committee applications.
