Show ARTISTS AND SPEAKERS explore freedom, rebellion, morality, Vietnam, and student responsibility Highlighting winter of '68, Edward Kennedy spoke in OSH auditorium to a capacity audience whose overflow caught the dynamic speaker on closed circuit T.V. in Orson Spencer rooms. Those who could spare time from the books found issues such as "Freedom, Rebellion, and Responsibility" presented in paper and panel discussion form invigorating during the Fifteenth Annual Great Issues Forum sponsored by the Philosophy Department. Paralleling Great Issues, but lacking the panel debate, Thursday noon lectures augmented student philosophy concerning vital topics, and National Issues explored perplexing problems concerning the home front. Emerging from the dissolution of Spotlight, Focus concentrated its efforts on "Why I ..." the exploration of man's psyche. Spectrum's goal was to develop the local perspective of the Vietnam question ... through experience of informed students. 38 |
