Show CHEERLEADERS, SONGLEADERS, MARCHING BAND, PEP BAND, UTE- Sparking infectious enthusiasm at each athletic contest Utah's spirit spreaders, the cheerleaders, songleaders, Ute-tahnas, marching band and pep band cheered, sang, danced, marched, and played their way through the University's athletic year, amalgamating active Ute voices into one burst of spirit. Teams found that solid backing inspired by these groups provided the occasional shove that made several come-from-behind victories and was a panacea aiding the healing of some wounds encountered while snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. Precision routines unfolded geometrically on Einar Nielsen Field-house floor as Ute-tahnas high-stepped in new crimson fringed uniforms that added the necessary touch of Redskin color to half-time drills. Adding instrumental background to the girls' routines, the pep band and marching band performed under almost impossible conditions, and at the end of each game throngs of enthusiastic Redskins proudly sang "Utah Man" and demonstrated the results of the culminated efforts of University pepsters.
