Maxwell/Execuf/Ve Vice President Events are now moving so fast at the University of Utah that the decisions made in 1968 affect the next half-century of education in the state. The University approaches a crossroads in its role as an educational institution in 1968 according to Neal A. Maxwell, Executive Vice President. Heading such projects as the building program, athletics, food service, alumni activities, and fund raising, Maxwell and his staff wish to establish in Utah a commitment to quality education and the vision which marked the foresight of the pioneers. Undercurrents in the tide of development surging over the University in 1968 are the $50 million building drive, the administration's drive to upgrade the faculty, the initiation of a national drive to raise University funds, and launching of a successful alumni fund drive to continue for two years. 115 |
