Show FROSH BASKETBALL chalks up 10-4 record The University freshman basketball team ended the 1967-68 season with an impressive 10-4 record. Coached by George Fisher, one of the five who led the Redskins to fourth place in the 1966 NCAA nationals, the papooses provided the varsity with plenty of potential for head coach Jack Gardner to draw from. Top scorer Mike Newlin and top rebounder Ken Gardner led their teammates, Russ Northcutt, Craig Clark and Terry Kunysz against some tough competition from BYU, Utah State, and area junior colleges. Most surprising was a reversal of a tradition where the BYU kittens whipped the Utes in Einar Nielsen Fieldhouse followed by a bout at BYU, evening the score between the two teams.
