White ; palpi fawn-colour, porrect, about as long as the breadth of the head, second joint with large white tufts above, third acutely conical, as long as the second ; antennae white, stout, pectinated in the male, branches reddish, short; top of head pure white ; thorax grey, with a black central stripe and a white band on each side; abdomen pure white. Wings white; fore wings with the upper portions suffused with yellowish-fawn colour, and with a broad black longitudinal central stripe from base to outer margin, attenuated at both ends ; marginal points black, and a few black atoms distributed over the surface of the wing : hind wings pure white, unmarked. Underside white, with the stripe and marginal points on the fore wings showing through the wings, and in the male with the costal portions and outer border of the fore wings and costa of hind wings suffused with dirty reddish grey.
