Show 128 SPECIAL MEETING OF THE BOARD OF REGENTS JUNE 27, 1921. Held in the Directors' Room, Deseret National Bank. Present: Chairman Riter, Regents Van Cott, Gemmell Bamberger, Widtsoe, Christensen, Alexander, Stewart, Crockett, V Ray, wattis, Anderson,‘and Evans.l Dean Van Cott Chairman Riter called attention to the action of the Board at the last meeting in relation to Miss Van Cott and stated that a committee of ladies had waited on MiSs Van Cott and thm RegentGemmell had a report to make. On motion of Regent Alexander the matter was laid on the table. .On motion of Regent Alexander it was understood that the meeting should be considered entirely executive and that only results should be given to the public. . Regent Ray presented the following letter from Dr. Storey, which was ordered filed: Letter from Dr. Storey Los Angedes Limited No. 8, June 23, 1921. "my dear Mr. Ray: It may save misunderstanding and possibly embarrassment if I transmit to you without delay a statement of the conditions under which I would accept appointment as president of the University of Utah._ If in your discretion you recommend to your trustees that I be invited to become the president of your University, the recommendation must be received with the understanding that I am in no sense an applicant for the position and I must receive the following assurances:First, that the invitation has received the unanimous approval of the Board of Regents before its transmission to me. This approval should include the Regents that are to be added to the Board on July first. ‘ ‘ |
