MINUTES OF INFORMAL CONFEREHCE HELL BY LEMBERS OF THE-BOARD OF REGENTS, AT THE UNIVERSITY OF UTaH, AUGUST 5,1920 The meeting of the Board of Regents called for this date did not materialize as a quorum was not present. Regents Bennion, Alexander, Stewart, and President Uidtsoe were the only members present. It was decided that, while the meeting could in no way be official, that the following items should be discussed, -Regent Alexander, in behalf of Chairman Riter, presented the following communications from Dr. Merrill and announced 1‘\ that Mr. Riter wished them presented at this meeting of the Board. 4 "July 50, 1920. "Regent Van Cott, Walker Bank Bldg., City. Dear fir. Van Cott: Many members of the Faculty are desirous of having the letter respecting the purchasing agent presented to the Board at one of its early meetings. There is a point of View in the letter,--one reSpecting the relative importance of teach- ing and other positions at the University--that we wish the Board to see.
