Show SPECIAL MEETING OF THE BOARD OF REGENTS DECEMBER 28, 1920, 2 P. M. Held in the Directors' Room of the Deseret National Bank. Present: Chairman Riter; Regents Van Cott, Lund, Bamberger, Fitch, Love, Alexander, Stewart, Harkness, President Widtsoe. Director Reynolds of the Extension Division was also present. President Widtsoe read a paper showing the per capita requests for funds made by various state universities to their legislatures. J-P:Wa15h The President announced the following: J. P. Walsh, reSigned. . Metallurgical Fellow, resigned; J. H. Powell, Jr., temporary Appelnt- mefits: Instructor in Public Speaking from January 1 to end of school P0W911;Jr- year at $1,000 for that length of time; C. C. Jacob, to be C.C.Jacob Instructor in Mechanical Drafting from January let to end of school year at $125 per month, this money to be provided by T.A.Beal the Government from Vocational Training funds; Thomas A. Beal, to be Acting Head of the Department of Econo mics. Regent Van Cott moved that the recommendations of the Passed. _ President Widtsoe informed the Board that the matter ees for covering fees for the registration of the nurses had been referred to the Medical'Committee for consideration; that Mrs. Gemmell, Chairman of that Committee, had asked him to present the matter again to the Board as-she had been unable to meet with the Medical Committee before she left for California, but that she, personally, concurred in the arrangement tentatively made by the Committee for the various hospitals to pay a fee of $20 per quarter to the University. ank-J- urses ,.'_ ~.
