Raskin Conservation Chairman, Uinta Chapter 1865 Herbert Avenue Salt Lake City, UT 8410^ RE: Central Utah Project Dear Dave: Pursuant to our conversations in Santa Fe last month and the resolution of the Executive Committee of the Uinta Chapter of "October"^. 1972, requesting an endorsing action necessary to force the Bureau of Reclamation to comply with the National Environmental Policy Act regarding the subject project, the Legal Defense Fund through the good offices of Allen Stokes has now developed a background analysis of the project. Allen's materials enclosed herein include: (1) three appendices with attached exhibits; (2) prepared comments on the Draft Environmental Impact Statement for the proposed Bonneville Unit; (3) representative maps. Obviously, Allen has spent a great deal of time andput much effort into preparation of the enclosed. It is now incumbant upon yourself and all others receiving copies of the enclosed to comment in detail to the Denver Office. It is especially important that the factual analysis be checked with a fine-tooth comb, for we must be straight in this area before we can go very far.
