Show 7279 Cooley- D 5259 A Sir? Q Would that price be approximately the same in 1902 and 1903? A Yes sir. Q When you made these raft trips down, how many would go on the party, how many men? A Just the two of us; we never had ever two men on a raft at any time I went. Q You wouldn't return to camp, the lumber camp? A Sir? Q You wouldn't go back to the lumber Camp? A Ordinarily; in 1902 and 1903, at that time there was a road up the river; we came back with the team up the river and back to the mill. Q In 1897 and 1898 how did you get back? A We went over what we call Wilson Mesa; we clumb out of Moab to a point about seven thousand feet, then dropped over the hill into Castle valley; there was a road across there -- not exactly a road, but we got over with a team. Q You got a team? A Sir? Q Whose team, did you say? A Mr. Branson's team. MR. BLACKMAR: That is all. MR. FARNSWORTH: That is all. |
