A I am not certain whether I jumped or waded or went ashore in the small boat they had on the Moab Garage boat. Q Do you know how long that boat was stuck there? A It was there over night. Q How do you know it was there over night? A Because I left some of my baggage on it; I was to pick up the baggage next morning. Q At what time? A At about eleven o'clock, I assume, because I was to take a train out of Thompson at noon, and that baggage was to be brough up to the Moab boat landing, and I couldn't get it, because the barge had not reached there at the time I was obliged to leave in order to catch the train at Thompson. Q How did these survey parties on the Colorado river get their supplies? A Well, the major portion of them were transported in by trucks and wagons to points near camps, and then carried on pack animals. Some of the supplies were hauled down the river by the Moab Garage Company and by our own small row boat. Q Were you up on the high land on either side of the |
