Show 4681 Kirkpatrick- C 2695 A Yes. Q You spoke of making a survey down to a point twelve miles north of the Utah- Arizona line in 1917, I believe. A Yes, we worked along in the country adjacent to the Colorado; we didn't touch the Colorado at that time with the surveys. Q You came up to within what distance of the Colorado? A With the surveys? Q In that section, yes. A I wouldn't be able to tell without seeing the plats. Q Oh, well, can't you give it to us approximately? A Well, part of our work may have been several miles, part of it may have been ten miles. Q Mr. Kirkpatrick, you were down there with your party, saw where they were surveying, inspected their surveys? A No, I don't inspect their surveys. Q You yourself rode from where your men were surveying over to the river at one point as you have described? A I did. Q Can't you tell us something approximating the fact there without looking over your plats? A rode to the river our surveys cane within probably to twelve miles. Q In walking those surveys was it your practice to indicate in any way or to make ties with known coal veins? |
