Show 4800 Gentry- D 2814 A That was probably in July. BY THE SPECIAL MASTER: Q Where is this McPherson's ranch, how far above the town of Greenriver? A That is about forty miles, I would estimate, above the town of Greenriver. BY MR. BLACKMAR: Q How large a place is this McPherson's ranch? A to their fields or land under cultivation -- but roughly speaking, maybe forty or fifty acres of land; I couldn't just say. Q What is the character of the country between Greenriver, Utah, and McPherson's ranch, the part you have been over? A Between the town of Greenriver and McPherson's ranch the country for about ten miles from Greenriver going up the Green river is a sort of rolling country, sandy. Q The west side or east side of the river? A Both sides. I don't recall so much in there, as I was only up from Greenriver once, and our supplies from Woodside, Utah. Q How did they come in? A Pack animals. The country after leaving Greenriver becomes very rugged and broken by ledges, steep slopes, very difficult to get over. |
