Show 4816 Swanholm- D 2830 A Right at the town, of course. Q How did you get those supplies down at your other camp? A The provisions for the maintenance of the camp were all brought down on a barge -- not all, but most of them; some were brought down with a little boat. Q During the time you were in there was it necessary for your camp to be re- supplied? A Yes, in limited quantities. Q How were those brought down? A During this period of 1926 the oil came were operating probably at full capacity, and the camps were requiring the equipment to be brought down the river on the barge, and when these trips would start from Moab I would be advised by telephone when the barge would be expected to start, and if I could anticipate my needs I would send in an order for provisions for the camps, or my own camps; and time a when the barge was only making a trip to No. 1, we would have to go out with our pack string at No. 1 and bring it down to No. 2, or get out with the boat at No. 1 and bring it down to No. 2. Q Did you personally make any trips on the Moab barge? A Yes. Q Can you tell me about when that trip was? I am referring now to the year 1926. Let's stay on that. A I think the only trip was about the 1st of December |
