Show 4697 Kirkpatrick- C 2711 back up the river you avoided the current? A Yes. Q Kept out in the quiet water? A We did. Q So that when you went back up you didn't go in the channel that you came down, at all, did you, or only very occasionally, when you couldn't help doing it? A when we came back up we endeavored to go as close to the shore as we could to take advantage of the slow moving water. Q When you came down, you came down in the channel of the river, that is, the deep part where the current was, didn't you? A Not all the time, no. Q But generally speaking? A Generally speaking we did, yes. Q And you avoided that very path on your way up as far as you could, didn't you? A We did. Q So that why do you come here, Mr. Kirkpatrick, and testify under oath about changing channels from one day to the other? MR. BLACKMAR: I object to that question as being argumentative. A I think they do. |
