Q At the points where you forded was in necessary to swim your stock? A Not any, not at all. Q What kind of stream is the Colorado up in that section of the country? THE SPECIAL MASTER: That is a little indefinite, Mr. Blackmar, what kind of stream. BY MR. BLACKMAR: Q What is the character of the stream, with reference to the river bed, the flow of the water, the gradient? A From a point a few miles below, a couple miles below Westwater, and a short distance east of the Cisco pumping plant, the stream rune through a canyon, a gorge, you might say; many places it is filled with rapids, and swift. Q Does that condition continue on down to Dewey? A No, not from a point east of the Cisco pumping plant, the river flows through a low hill country, and it is not quite as swift. Q Are there any rapids in there? A I never noticed any. Q Could you give me the approximate gradient of the river in there? |
