Show 4730 Moore- D 2744 A Well, it was very uncertain, to my point of view, because I had no way to gain connection with the garage to know when they were coming, and they only came when they had special trips to make, and I had no way of landing at my camp there. Q How did you make landing of supplies there? A Mr. Swanholm was camped at No. 2; sometimes he would bring them up in his out- board motor, and sometimes they would be unloaded at the dock on the left- hand side of the river up at No. 1. Q Then how were they gotten over to you? A By pack train. Q Beg pardon? A By pack. Q Did you make any crossings on the Colorado river? A How do you mean? Q Back and forth, the time you were down there below Moab. A Yes, I have crossed back and forth. Q And in what way? A I have crossed the river, most of the time it was an out- board motor, I think pretty near always. Q Did you ever ford it? A No, I didn't personally ford it. Q Any of your party that you saw ford it? |
