Show 4663 Kirkpatrick- D 2677 A At the landing? Q No, at Mill creek. A No, we repaired the damage, and I continued on up. Q Do you recall what time you arrived at Moab at the landing. A Not exactly; it was close to noon, though. Q Did you make any observations as to whether or not there had been any change in the channel of the river between the time you went down and the time you came back? A Well, the course we took was changed; we would find the best water going down at one place, and coming up at another; we had considerable trouble locating just the best water. Q Well, was that on account of not being, able to find it, or on account of the channel changing? A Well, I think it was because the channel was changing, that is, the course of the rapid water was changing; probably due to change in the bed of the river in some way. Q Did you notice whether or not the stage of the water had changed between the time you went down and the time you came back? A I don't think it had, no; if it did, it was very little, because the river was very high when we went down. Q Were you again on the Colorado river in the fall of 1926? |
