A I have charge of all of the public land surveying operations in the state of Utah and the state of Nevada involving the supervision of the field work and office work. Q Does that work bring you into the field yourself? A Oh, yes. Q When was the first time you were in and about any portion of the Colorado river in the state of Utah? A Well, I crossed it in the locality of Moab in 1915, I believe. Q Did you do any work in and around Moab in 1915? A No. Q When was the first time that you did any work in and about the Colorado river? A Well, in 1917 we operated just west of the Colorado river, north of the Utah- Arizona state line, from what the local people term the Paria river almost to the Colorado river. Q How far north did that carry you? A North from the state line? Q Yes. A I imagine twelve miles. Q What kind of country is that in there with reference |
