Show 4729 Moore- D 2743 A I left the boat at what they call King's bottom, below Moab two or three miles; I had my camp there. Q Where is King's bottom with reference to Mill creek? A It may be a mile, and may be only three- quarters down the river. Q From Mill creek? A Yes sir. Q And you had your camp there? A Yes sir. Q How long had you been camped there? A Only a few days when we made this trip. Q How did you get your supplies into the camp? A The first supplies, I believe, as I recall, came down on the barge, and at times we would have them come on the barge, and the rest of the time we packed them by pack train. Q Did you afterwards establish another camp down the Colorado river, further down the river? A About half- way, I should judge, between No. 1 and No. 2 I had what we call a fly camp; that was for my own personal party. Q How did you bring the supplies in for that camp? A Some were packed in on pack animals; some came on the Moab Garage barge. Q What luck did you have with the supplies that were brought down on the Moab Garage? |
