Show 4704 Kirkpatrick- C 2718 were going to alight to meet your friend? A Just about, within a few feet. Q And they got out of the channel in attempting to accommodate you, and got on to a sandbar, didn't they? A I don't know what they got on; they stuck there on something. Q They stuck when they were stopping at Mill creek in order to let you off; isn't it true? A Yes. Q You have already said that was not a usual stopping place. A Yes. Q Now, do you wish the court to understand that this getting hung up on the sandbar at Mill creek was the result of hitting a sandbar on the journey to Moab in the course of an ordinary trip, or do you wish the court to understand the reason the boat got hunt up on the sandbar at Mill creek was because it attempted to stop there, got out of the channel and got close enough to the shore for you to get off, and in so doing got stuck on a sandbar? A They probably stuck on that sandbar or in the mud along the shore because they attempted to land me. Q Why didn't you say that in your direct examination? A That is not where they stuck all night, though, according to my information. |
