Show 4773 Yundt- C 2787 Q The biggest part of your encountering of bars was when you were not going to and from work, was is not? A I don't understand you. Q I say, the bars that you encountered were for the most part bars that you encountered in going from one side of the river to the other and landing, or in hugging the bank of the river? A I wouldn't say that; they appeared to be all through at low water. Q It was usually more shallow on the side of the river than it was on the other, wasn't it? A Yes sir. Q And when you went over to the more shallow part you more frequently encountered bars, did you not? A Yes sir. Q So that you would say that most of the bars that you encountered in that work was when you were crossing back and forth? A Yes sir. Q Now, when you say that you encountered sand bars in going up and down the river lengthways going to and from your work, you don't wish to be understood by that as intending to state that you could not and did not get up and down that river? A No sir, we always got up and down. |
