Show 4661 Kirkpatrick- D 2675 A Clarence Baldwin and one of my surveyors, Mr. Charles F. Moore. Q And yourself? A And myself. Q Did you have a lot of supplies? A We did not. Q Just the three of you? A Just the three of us. Q Mr. Baldwin is the of the owners of the Moab Garage Company? A He is one of the owners; he operated the boat. Q How long did it take you to make the trip down to Lockhart? A Well, I can't tell exactly, but I should estimate about three hours; two and a half or three hours. Q Did you have any difficulty in that trip down there with the sandbars? Q No serious difficulty; we struck a couple of them, but got off by allowing the boat to drift around, and by poling -- pushing off. Encountered some of these whirlpools; they weren't very dangerous, though. Q How long did you remain at Lockhart canyon A Just long enough to turn around and start up. Q did you find your party there? A There was no party down there; we were just looking over the country and arranging to do work down there? |
