Show 4749 Yundt- D 2763 A He had a ditch line from Trachyts creek, a ditch line possibly half a mile long. Q How large a party did you have in there? A There were two parties there, Mr. Bird's and mine; Mr. Bird being in active charge. There were about seven men, I think, on each party, making a total of fourteen. Q How did you come into that country? A We came in down Trachyte canyon. Q From what point? Q From Hanksville; we had been working in the vicinity of Henry mountain; we simply moved down the canyon with out survey. Q Did you bring your outfit in by pack train or by wagon? A We brought it in to the head of Trachyte canyon in a wagon, then by pack down Trachyte. Q How had your party gotten down into Henry mountain? A They came in from Richfield by wagon into Hanksville, then down along the east side of the Henry mountains into the upper country. Q How much land did you see in and around Hite which was subject to cultivation? A I think that Mr. Humphreys had most of the land already under cultivation?
