Show Cherry Wong Museum in the Classroom Docent Rebecca Pickett gave excellent guidance to the docents in the museum and in the classroom. Introducing Rebecca A. Pickett · · The Museum's NEW Assistant Curator of Education . Rebecca Pickett Rebecca Pickett joined the Museum in August this year to work with· the Education Department and has been a great addition to the Museum and wonderful to work with. A little bit about Rebecca, in 1990 she received her Bachelors degree in Fine Arts· and Technical Tneater. Her degree emphasis was ·printmaking, primarily monoprints, and collagraphs. She studied modern art at S.V.N.Y. Stonybrook in New York under the art critic Donald Kuspit (Art in Ame'rica, Art Forum) for two years of her ·undergraduate degree. Rebecca was a docent and part time assistant curator at the Nevada Museum of Art for two years. She had always hoped for a .career in the Arts, but n9ne was available so she returned to the University of Nevada, Reno for a Masters in · Elementary Education. ' She moved to Salt Lake City in 1995 and bec_ame a fourth grade teacher at Jackson Elementary in the Salt Lake School District. In 1999 an exciting opportunity for a ·career change came and she is now the Assistant Curator of Education - at the Utah Museum of Fine Arts.
